Consultation of the options paper is now CLOSED

The options discussion paper for the review of the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 collates recommendations from major independent market research into Victoria’s rental sector, as well as 331 written submissions and almost 3,500 contributions to forums on issues relating to the following themes across the current regulatory framework:

  • Dispute resolution
  • Family violence in a tenancy
  • Property conditions
  • Bonds, rent and other charges
  • Rights and responsibilities of landlords and tenants before, during and after tenancy
  • Rooming houses
  • Security of tenure.
